An award-winning green wall
When we put together our refurbishment proposals for 22 Ganton Street in Carnaby Village, it was the perfect opportunity to incorporate biodiversity features into the project from the outset; it's just one of the ways we're working towards the environmental targets we've set ourselves.
As a result of this planning, our new office has two sedum roofs, four green walls, two bird boxes and numerous bird feeders, as well as an invertebrate feature and twenty flowering planters.
Our green walls are planted with an array of shrubs and flowering plants such as purple palace, ice dance, winter creeper and Japanes skimmia. We've also incorporated a clever watering system, which means the walls are low maintenance; and with the help of Enterprise Plants who look after them, they continue to look good year round.
Since we moved in in early 2014, we've been attracting a lot of attention. We've had a lot of interest from a variety of birds, including finches, and our staff are loving the vibrant activity of the outside roof terrace. We also won the European Federation of Interior Landscape Groups' Silver Leaf award for 2015.
