In response to an increasing focus in London on health and wellbeing, the quality of the air we breathe and retreating areas of green space, the West End’s largest property owners are working together to create greater connections with nature for residents, visitors and workers to enjoy and encourage birds, bees and bats back into the West End of London.
Wild West End is a unique partnership between The Crown Estate, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, The Portman Estate, The Howard de Walden Estate and Shaftesbury. Endorsed by the Mayor of London and the London Wildlife Trust, and supported by Technical Partner Arup, Wild West End is creating green stepping stones between the existing areas of surrounding parkland, through a combination of green roofs, green walls, planters, street trees, flower boxes and pop-up spaces. As well as biodiversity benefits, there is increasing evidence that links access to green space to socio-economic factors, including better social cohesion, lower stress, and higher levels of satisfaction and wellbeing.
Join us for breakfast where the partners will share with you the achievements and future aspirations of Wild West End, and examine the benefits of a partnership approach to tackling sustainability issues within London.
